Nude & Rude: The Best of Iggy Pop
Iggy Pop
|
Sometimes you love an artist so much you gladly trawl through their
back catalogue an album at a time, savoring the music as you go. But
then there are the times you just want the quick fix of a greatest hits
collection. Going all the way back to Raw Power's grungy
"Search and Destroy" (when Iggy was a Stooge) and "Funtime" (ever heard
the R.E.M. cover of this?), Nude & Rude also collects poppy
numbers like "Nightclubbing," "Lust for Life," and "The Passenger."
Mmm, memories of Trainspotting. Also on here is the duet with
the B-52s' Kate Pierson, "Candy," which was pretty overplayed on KROQ
when I was in high school but which is good to hear again here for
nostalgia purposes.
