Terry Callier is a slippery specimen, equal parts jazz, folk, and
soul. Recorded live at London's Jazz Cafe in 2000, this album captures a
brilliant set in front of a rightfully appreciative crowd. His honesty
and intensity remind me of Gil Scott Heron and Carl Hancock Rux, and he's
got a gorgeous voice going for him as well. This is a great introduction
to a man who has been writing and playing music for 40 years.
