Palomine
Bettie Serveert
|
My very first ever official published music review was something I wrote
about Bettie Serveert's Dust Bunnies. That's a fine album, but
this one's even better. An intensely strong debut, Palomine
perfectly captures in music the feelings of insecurity and uncertainty I
identify with so well. Just listen to the title track or the more
rockin' "Kid's Allright," both of which showcase Carol van Dijk's amazing
voice. It's "Tom Boy" that really gets me in the gut every time though;
no wonder it's a college radio favorite. Best of all, they're Dutch!
