Blood on the Tracks
Bob Dylan
This album filled in another hole in my musical education, namely the Bob Dylan Gap. I was hooked from the very first listen, not too surprising considering my love of heartfelt folk and acoustic guitar. I feel like I could spend a lifetime unpacking songs like "Tangled up in Blue" and "Idiot Wind" or sitting quietly with "Simple Twist of Fate" and "If You See Her, Say Hello." I can see why people joke about Dylan's vocal delivery and the way his songs can seem to ramble on (and on), but I love it. And I know I'm not the first person to say that Blood on the Tracks is sheer perfection.
