Jucifer's G. Ed Livengood and G. Amber Valentine make beautiful
metal together. There's something undeniably appealing about heavy
rock with an ethereal girl-voice singing over the top of it,
especially when said girl starts screaming. "Lambs 1" bewitches you into
its mire, while "Platinum High" is a study in barely-contained
hatred. The EP ends with "Gunsick," in the middle of which a gentle
guitar lulls you into a false sense of security before Valentine
suddenly resumes keening like a banshee. Shades of Sonic Youth, but
even harder.
