GASCD: Governments Accountable to Society and Citizens = Democracy.
Really, anyone can throw a compilation together, but to make a really
meaningful one it takes a touch of genius. This is modern protest
music, interspersed with interview clips and mood-setting
instrumentals. It's no surprise to find Ani DiFranco and Michael
Franti on here, but the Barenaked Ladies? Well, their song totally
rocks. All proceeds from GASCD "will go to help the legal defense of
protestors imprisoned during the Quebec Summit of the Americas, where
discussions were taking place regarding the creation of the FTAA (the
Free Trade Area of the Americas)." Get this album, get inspired.
