I do love a good solid four-song EP, especially one as chock-full of
easily accessible tunes as this one is. This 2000 release was Hey
Mercedes's debut, though three of the four band members had played
together in Braid before that band broke up. "St. James St." powers
along with the help of Robert Nanna's soaring voice and some heavy
indie guitar, while "Stay Six" adds a healthy dose of pop to the
band's emo ancestry. Damn catchy stuff that had me rocking out in no
time flat.
sunday to st james st
ride blue on the line
staring at the blue skyline
someday i'll find my way to
make those shining lights mine.
"St. James St."

cars and planes are crashing
and someone is cashing in
tonight one more look like that
could set this mission in motion
cause i'm tired of living alone
and i'm hoping that it shows
all over it's all over and so it goes.
"Stay Six"
