Grant-Lee Phillips
|
The band Grant Lee Buffalo holds a special place in my heart. I
dragged my brother to their show when he came to help me move back
from England, and Fuzzy is one of my all-time favorite albums.
Therefore I'm grateful that Grant-Lee Phillips is still creating his
brand of gorgeous rock. I've noticed people get a little mystical
when they're talking about his music, and I'm no different. Give the
album a few listens, let it wash over you, lose yourself in the
labyrinth of Phillips's lyrics. The first song I heard from the
album is the catchy little number "Spring Released," and just to give
you a taste: "Damn, this floor is thumpin'/Spring released and/My
little girlfriend's hanging light/I feel the blood rush/Pumpin',
haulin'".
