Herbie Hancock takes on drum'n'bass, hip-hop, and world music. While
he doesn't exactly innovate in any of those areas, this album is solid,
and full snaps for not being afraid of new music. Chaka Khan helps
out with vocals, A Guy Called Gerald lends his jungle expertise, Carl
Craig assists on the electronic side of things, and Jack DeJohnette
and Wayne Shorter keep the jazz pieces smokin'. I enjoyed the mellow
"Alphabeta" as well as the African rhythms on "Kerbero Part II" and
the turntablism on "This Is Rob Swift."
