A collection of one-page comic strips drawn by Lynda Barry. Hysterically funny and touching all at the same time, these strips feature lovable misfit Marlys, her cousin Arna, and their collection of siblings. The strips in this book appeared over the course of ten years, and reading them all together is a great way to see these characters develop. Marlys and Arna seem to stay about the same age throughout, which is not to say that nothing important happens to them. Barry has a beautiful grasp of the little moments that occur in childhood that we remember throughout the rest of our lives. Funny, poignant, and beautiful.
