My visionaries are all artists of one form or another. Some might say
that is completely unsurprising. This list is arbitrarily limited to
folks who are still alive and is grossly incomplete in many respects.
It merely reflects where I was at on a particular evening after a
weekend of relaxation and debauchery. That said...
Janet Cardiff - For her amazing sound art. You don't just see or hear
her pieces, you do her pieces.
A.S. Byatt - Never underestimate the power of words.

Bjork - To me, being in love feels like her music.
Sonic Youth - For their live performance of "The Diamond Sea" at
Irvine Meadows in August of 1995.
Paul Pope - For comics that crackle with kineticism and yet retain
their emotional heart.
Bruce Sterling - Writer of disturbing and strangely seductive futures.
Patrick Farley - For continuously reinventing Web comics with one hand
tied behind his back.
Todd Courtois - Stand before his wall of ideas and marvel, ye mortal.
David Lynch - He'll be fucking with my head one moment and then making

Joani Blank - Founder of Good Vibrations.
Kathy Galloway - Peacemaker and first woman to lead the Iona
